Marmalade was one of five kittens found by my students and bottle-raised by me. At the time, I taught 4th grade and my students saw someone try to drown the kittens in a plastic bag on their way to school. They rescued them by poking a hole in the bag and then sent someone to get me.
We bottle-fed the kittens every two hours for six weeks. During that time, we managed to find homes for all of the kittens, since we already had a cat.
Marmalade was supposed to have gone with a friend once the kittens were weaned, but I came home from work one day and discovered that he had a different arrangement in mind.
Marmalade has become the undisputed leader of our house. He grew- a lot - and took over everything. Digit, our first cat, is a quiet soul who took all the fuss in stride.
Marmalade's always up to something. Here, he thinks he's in hiding, waiting to ambush Digit the next time he passes by.
